I have to say that my trip to Arlington was a trip that will be with me the rest of my life. This was my first visit to DC. The visit to 'The Wall' was a very moving experience for a lot of us. Watching some take etchings from 'The Wall' , some just standing there reminiscing, some us going off by ourselves to contemplate, and tears being shed by a lot of us. It was good to have 'Brothers' and friends there for support. I even saw one of the guys standing on another's shoulders to to get an etching from up high on 'The Wall'. There was some hugging, tears, and new friendships made that night.
If you have never been to the Korean War Memorial, it is one of the most eerie sights at night, that I have ever seen. It looks like ghosts walking across a field when you are approaching it.
The service for Maj. Perry H. Jefferson was also a very moving experience for a lot of us. A lot of Vietnam Vets flew out on a C-130 that was provided by the Wyoming Air National Guard. That alone brings back a lot of memories. The F-16s that did the flyover were provided by the Colorado Air National guard. A KC-135 was also furnished by the Kansas Air National Guard to fly some of the veterans that were stationed with Maj. Jefferson, and their wives back to DC. Last, but not least, the Military Honors that are given at Arlington, are second to none. Maj. Perry H. Jefferson was the last of the missing from the Colorado Air National Guard to be accounted for. With this service, it makes them whole again.
Brother 'Silverback' and the rest of the local PGR did an outstanding job in standing for this Hero. There were a lot of 'Brothers' from several Veterans Clubs that attended this service and did all of us justice in standing for, and showing respect for this special Hero.
This was my third time being on the 'other' side of the mission, and it was the largest. It made my heart fill with pride and tears in my eyes, seeing these patriots doing what we do at these services.
This was a once in a lifetime experience for a lot of us. It took alot of hard work by a lot of people to put this all together, including one of our own, that is still seving our country, and that is 'Pappy', who is scheduled to leave us shortly for his third or fourth tour in the 'Sandbox'. These people put in a lot of hours to make this happen the way it did. It's not every day that we see such support for our fallen 'Heroes'. Our hats are off all of you that helped with this 'Mission' of great importance.
Lastly I would like to personally thank all of the guys from the several Veterans and other bike clubs for coming together to honor this man, and I consider you all as 'Brothers' since our meeting this week. Especially after that grueling 6 hour flight home on the C-130. Listening to Jimi Hendricks, and being around all of these Veterans, put me back in 'that place' again, and the memories weren't all that bad. It was good to be amongst all of you, and it was a great honor for me to participate in this experience with you all.

Very Sincerely,
